Indian Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited (IDPL) is a public sector pharmaceutical company established in 1961 under the ownership of the Indian government. Headquartered in New Delhi, with major facilities in Hyderabad, Gurgaon, and Rishikesh, IDPL was founded with the vision of creating self-sufficiency in the production of essential and life-saving medicines.

Over the years, IDPL has played a pivotal role in India’s healthcare infrastructure by manufacturing and supplying a wide range of pharmaceuticals, including antibiotics, anti-malarials, and other essential drugs. 

Despite its significant contributions, IDPL faced financial challenges and was declared sick by the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction.
