Union Government appoints two senior officials in NITI Aayog
Deepak Kumar (ISS) and Aashwita Lal (IRS) were appointed as Deputy Secretary and Director in NITI Aayog, as per orders from the DoPT.

New Delhi: Two senior officers named Deepak Kumar (ISS) and Aashwita Lal (IRS) have been appointed by the Central Government to the post of Deputy Secretary and Director in NITI Aayog respectively. Deepak Kumar, a 2013-batch Indian Statistical Service (ISS) officer, has been chosen for the Deputy Secretary post at NITI Aayog per two distinct orders issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).
The Ministry of Statistics & Program Implementation approved him for Central deputation; he will be serving in this capacity for four years or until more instructions. According to the DoPT order, he should be released from his present responsibilities right away to accept his new one.

Likewise, Aashwita Lal, a 2008 batch Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) official, has been named Director at NITI Aayog. Nominated by the Department of Revenue for Central delegation, she will occupy the office for five years or until further notice.
The DoPT has directed her immediate release from her obligations to take over the new post. Under the Central Staffing Scheme, both officers were proposed for the central deputation.
Both appointments follow the guidelines set by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), which requires officials to occupy their designated posts three weeks from the date of appointment order issue, failing which debarment actions from the Central Staffing Scheme could be started.
