IAS Officer, Jafar Malik appointed Deputy Secretary in Tribal Affairs Ministry’s DAJGUA Programme

The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has officially announced that Malik's time as a Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce under the Central Staffing Scheme has been reduced.

Jafar Malik (IAS) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gramme Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA), which is under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, after the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved his lateral shift.

The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has officially announced that Malik's time as a Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce under the Central Staffing Scheme has been reduced.

He will assume his new role in DAJGUA with effect from the date of taking charge, for the remaining period of his central deputation tenure, which extends until September 2, 2028, or until further orders.

Malik, a 2013-batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre, has been serving on central deputation since September 3, 2024. His new assignment under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs places him at the helm of DAJGUA, a key government initiative aimed at the socio-economic upliftment of tribal communities.
