NFRA: Govt invites application for Chairperson and Full-time Members as incumbents set to complete terms

The chairperson and full-time members are appointed for three years or till the attainment of 65 years of age whichever is earlier.

As the tenure of the Chairperson and full-time members of the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) is going to come an end, the Government of India invited applications to appoint a new Chairperson and three full-time members.

A B P Pandey (Retd IAS: 1984: MH) is completing his term as Chairperson. Praveen Kumar Tiwari (Retd IA&AS:1985) and Smita Jhingrana (Retd IRS IT: 1986) are completing their tenure as full-time members in March and mid-April this year. 

The chairperson and full-time members are appointed for three years or till the attainment of 65 years of age whichever is earlier.

As per the National Financial Reporting Authority Rules, 2018, the post of Chairperson and full-time member is equivalent to Secretary and Additional Secretary of the Government of India respectively.

The National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA) is the auditing and accounting supervision authority of India. The authority oversees the auditing profession and the Indian Accounting Standards under the Companies Act 2013. It was formed in October 2018. NFRA has provisions for a Chairperson, three posts of full-time Members, and one post of Secretary.
