One of THDCIL’s key initiatives, Water Conservation and Management, implemented through SEWA-THDC, has been instrumental in tackling water scarcity in Tehri Garhwal. The initiative has led to the construction of 612 Household Roof Rainwater Harvesting Tanks, each with a 3,000-liter capacity, across Pratapnagar and Bhilangana Blocks. These efforts have helped alleviate water shortages during dry seasons and have promoted climate resilience.

THDCIL’s CSR activities extend beyond water conservation and contribute to multiple Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG-6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG-11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG-13 (Climate Action).

Additionally, THDCIL has undertaken initiatives in healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, and agriculture. It operates an allopathic dispensary in Deengaon, Tehri, along with homeopathic dispensaries and medical camps in project-affected regions. In education, THDCIL runs schools for underprivileged children and provides skill development programs, scholarships, and vocational training. The company also supports women’s empowerment through courses in computers, tailoring, and beauty care, while agricultural programs include the distribution of fruit saplings, vegetable seeds, polyhouses, and farmer training programs.
