SJVN's 1500 MW NJHPS awarded with CBIP Award for Best Maintained Project in Hydro Sector

Shimla: SJVN's flagship 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS) has been bestowed with 'CBIP Award for Best Maintained Project in Hydro Sector' for the fiscal year 2024-25. The award was received by Sh. Raj Kumar Chaudhary, CMD (additional charge), SJVN and Sh. Ashutosh Bahuguna, Head of Project, NJHPS at a glittering ceremony held in New Delhi.
The award is in recognition to SJVN's outstanding contribution towards nation-building by successfully executing and operating the nation's largest underground 1500 MW NJHPS in arduous hilly terrains of Himachal Pradesh. The award has been conferred in recognition of the civil structures of the power station which have stood the test of time and continue to perform optimally.

Continuing the streak of achievements, NJHPS has broken an array of generation records in the current fiscal year and have proven its mettle yet again in the power sector. The power station clocked Highest Ever Quarterly Energy Generation of 3450.980 million units in the second quarter of the fiscal 2024-25 and Highest Ever Single Day Energy Generation of 39.572 million units on 13th August, 2024.
The power station also recorded Highest Ever Monthly Generation of 1222.170 million units during July 2024 and continued to operate without a single shutdown, even amid high silt levels in the Satluj, demonstrating unmatched efficiency and operational excellence.
