New Delhi, 18th February 2025: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) a Schedule ' A' company is looking for new face for the post of Director Finance. The PESB on February 17, 2025 posted that the job vacancy required the applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:-
(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);
(b) Central Government Group 'A' officers including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services and officers from Public Sector Banks/ Financial Institutions/ Autonomous Bodies etc;
(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs.2,000 crore or more;
(d) Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is *Rs.2,000 crore or more. Preference would be given to candidates from listed Companies.
(* The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits.)

The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or upto the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier

The Role of Director Finance:

The director (Finance) is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman and Managing. He/She is overall in charge of the finance and accounts of the organization and is responsible for evolving and formulating policies related to finance and accounts as well as implementation thereof

The current Director Finance of GRSE:

CMA Ramesh Kumar Dash is currently serving as the Director (Finance) of GRSE Ltd, he took the charge as on 01 July 2020. He is a post graduate in Commerce, Bachelor of Law and Associate Member of The Institute of Cost Accountant of India. Shri Dash started his career as Finance Officer in M/s. Paradeep Phosphate Ltd. (PPL), Govt. of India, Enterprise in April 1992. During his tenure in Paradeep Phosphate Ltd. his first assignment was in Marketing Finance at Bhopal and subsequently transferred to the Plant at Paradeep (Odisha). He continued to work for eight years in various positions and left M/s. Paradeep Phosphate Ltd. in 1999 and joined Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore as Manager (Finance). After completing almost 20 years in various divisions of HAL (including divisional finance heads), Mr. Dash was transferred to Corporate Office in 2018 to utilize his manufacturing experience in a corporate environment. He has extensive experience in Finance, Taxation, Accounts, Pricing, Budgeting, Treasury Management, Receivable Management, MoU, Contracts, Negotiations, Audit Functions and Corporate Governance. Mr. Dash has got Best CFO Award 2022 (Public- Manufacturing-Medium-Male) from The Institute of Cost Accountants of India towards his outstanding achievements in various areas of financial management of GRSE.

Mr. Dash has been honored with the DSIJ 2024 CFO Award (Best CFO with Best Returns in the Mid Category 2024), in recognition of his contribution to the company over the years.

About The Company (GRSE):

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (erstwhile Garden Reach Workshop Limited) was incorporated on 1934 and was taken over by the Government of India in 1960. The primary objective of the company is to construct warships and auxiliary vessels for the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard. It has a diversified product range and a vast reservoir of honed skills in the art of shipbuilding, ship repairing, production of diesel engine, Portable Steel Bridges, Automated Platforms and other high technology engineering products. GRSE has seven units in and around Kolkata and a Diesel Engine plant at Ranchi. GRSE is a Schedule ' A' company under the administrative jurisdiction of D/o Defence Production, Ministry of Defence. 

Its Registered and Corporate Offices is in Kolkata, West Bengal. The company employed 1573 regular employees (Executives: 469, Non-executives: 1104) as on 31.03.2024. The authorized and paid up capital of the Company was Rs. 125 crores and Rs. 114.55 crores respectively as on 31.03.2024. The shareholding of the Government of India in the CPSE is 74.5% as on 31.03.2024. The company is listed in both NSE and BSE.
