NALCO focus on Vigilance Awareness Week 2019
New Delhi: National Aluminium Company (NALCO) joined the Nation in observing Vigilance Awareness Week in its sites and offices. This year, the week is being celebrated from October 28 to Nov 2, 2019, with the theme ‘Integrity – A Way of Life.’
While stressing on fighting the menace of corruption, Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, NALCO, Shri Pradip Kumar Mishra, Director (Commercial) and Shri Somanath Hansdah, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), NALCO administered the pledge among the employees in Odia, Hindi and English, in the presence of Shri Sridhar Patra, Director (Fin.), Shri Sanjib Kumar Roy, Director (P&T) and other senior officers.
The Vigilance Awareness Week coincides with the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
During the ongoing week-long celebration, elocution and poster competitions in Hindi, English and Odia were held, in which more than 600 students from over 100 schools across Odisha participated and stressed on the need of individuals to adhere to curbing corruption and maintaining highest standards of integrity.
Walkathon and Cyclothon programmes, Gram Sabha in villages, seminars, workshops, distribution of pamphlets, Mini Marathon and display of banners at prominent locations were also organized to spread awareness among the employees, their family members and public at large.
In the run up to the Vigilance Awareness Week, e-integrity pledge drives were organized in schools and colleges, including Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB), Bhubaneswar and Silicon Institute of Technology (SIT), Bhubaneswar.
