Focus on energy conservation rising and Main role of EESL in the energy sector
New Delhi . While the central and state governments are taking steps to generate and supply power to consumers across the country, EESL bridges the demand-supply gap by implementing various energy conservation measures. Its main agenda is to see that the output is delivered with minimum energy use.
EESL was thus established by the Union ministry of power as a venture of NTPC, PFC, REC and Power Grid six years back. The company works closely with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and other stakeholders including the State Energy Conservation Mission from Andhra Pradesh. The company is leading the market-related activities of the National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency, which is one of the eight national missions under the Prime Minister's National Action Plan on Climate Change.
