RITES Ltd bestowed with Excellence in Sustainable Engineering for Rail Sector for Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link

Railway PSU, RITES Ltd has announced that it has been awarded for ‘Excellence in Sustainable Engineering for the Rail Sector’ at the 7th Rail Analysis Innovation & Excellence Summit 2026, held on Friday, January 30, 2026 for its contribution to the Udhampur– Srinagar–Baramulla Railway Link.

The 272-km Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project was inaugurated in June 2025, connects Kashmir to the national railway network. It features the world’s highest arch bridge called Chenab Bridge along with the India’s longest tunnel (T-50, 12.7 Km). The Project includes 36 tunnels and over 943 bridges to counter Himalayan terrain. The project has been executed by IRCON International, Northern Railway, and Konkan Railway Corporation with Encardio-Rite providing monitoring and instrumentation services.

Further, the project costs has been costing around Rs 37,000 crore to offer an all-weather, high-speed connection for both passengers and logistical support.
